Physical and chemical properties: white fine crystals, odorless inorganic compound
1. Normal state: white powder.
2. Crystal form: calcite calcium carbonate is rhombohedral crystal, aragonite calcium carbonate is columnar or needle-shaped crystal, and vaterite calcium carbonate is spherical. Among common industrial products, calcite is more common.
3. Density (g/cm³): 2.7-2.9.
4. Melting point (ºC): 1339.
5. Water solubility: calcium carbonate is insoluble in water, but it is easy to react with acid to release carbon dioxide.
6. Specific heat capacity: In the range of 0 to 100°C, the specific heat capacity of calcium carbonate is 0.836-0.8951J/(g∙°C).
7. Linear thermal expansion coefficient: In the range of 15 to 100℃, the linear thermal expansion coefficient of calcium carbonate is 11.7×10⁻⁶/℃.
8. Refractive index: The refractive index of calcium carbonate is 1.49.
9. Whiteness: High purity can reach above 90, and high-quality products can reach above 95. It can be used as a filler for white pigments to improve the whiteness of products. |
